I loved having a special morning at the studio. I was picked up at the station and driven to the studio. The teacher had everything set up and he explained what we were doing today. He was very kind and approachable. He even played me music and we chatted while making pottery. After I had the chance to check out the studio shop and bought beautiful pieces. He will be glazing and finishing the pieces himself and will ship them to me. I couldn’t have had a better experience. It’s such a lovely place and afterwards he dropped me at the Giant Buddha temple. Very nice and will be recommending!

Our ancestors were shinobi samurai who started to serve Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate) in 1582. The clan served the shogunate for 265 years. In 1868, the clan declined the invitation from the Meiji Government and became independent. We are the only lasting shinobi clan in Japan. We invite you to come to our clan dojo where real master practitioners and professional interpreters take charge of all workshops and seminars. This is good for people who want to get a deeper insight into our ninja and samurai cultures. We still handcraft our tools and weapons. Feel free to ask any questions as we have kept our shinobi samurai tradition for over 450 years. Our ancestors trained locals and their servants to be shinobi.(Ninja is a new word used in movies. Shinobi is the word which was commonly used in the feudal times,) The term "shinobi samurai" is not well-known, but you can be one of the few who knows the history and shinobi philosophy and mindsets. The shinobi samurai trained ninjas and lead ninjas as their mastermind. You will wear a ninja outfit to learn ninja techniques and learn samurai sword techniques and manners in samurai garb.

小学一年生の娘の自由研究に、陶芸をしたいと予約しました。４歳以上オッケーとのこと、幼稚園年少の息子と三人で、親子プランを体験。 まんだ陶房さんの方々が、とても優しくて、わかりやすく子供達をフォローしてくださり、手動のろくろを回しながら、娘も息子もお茶碗を作れました。そのほかに、お皿と動物の置物の3点を作成。 ７歳の娘も４歳の息子も、一度も飽きることなく、１時間半、集中して楽しんでいました。私も同時に湯呑みを二つ作らせていただけました。 本当に雰囲気も素晴らしく、楽しい体験になりました。ありがとうございます。

説明内容には確かに体験者以外の入室お断りと記載がありましたが、子供の付き添いのためでも入室できませんでした。子供の付き添いのためには自分が体験できなくても一人につき1,100円支払わなければならず、今回子供2人に夫婦でそれぞれ付き添いしたため2,200円余計に支払わなければならなくなりました。作業場に入るだけで一人1,100円払わなければならないというのが説明にもなかったこともあり納得できないところでした。子供達が楽しみにしていたこともあり渋々払いましが。スタッフが子供をサポートしてくれるわけでもなく3歳の子供から体験できると記載されていますが親の付き添い有り+1,100円であれば、だとおもいました。時間も50分間しかもらえず時間が来ると指摘されるので、子供と一緒に色塗りしたり、丁寧に色塗りしたい人には時間が足りないと思います。
