This was a great class. Kaori was a great teacher and we had plenty of time to practice our brush strokes before doing our final product. She also went through some of the history of writing styles. Great experience and would highly recommend this class. Kaori also premade some writings with our names before we got there on a small piece of wood and on paper in 3 different styles.

This was an amazing experience. In a traditional Japanese house overlooking the Kamo River, Keiko, dressed in a beautiful kimono, taught us how to write kanji. Keiko was very kind and charming. We tried writing kanji using traditional brushes. We wrote our own characters on a board and took them home as a keepsake. It became a great memory.

テレビや雑誌でしか見ないような、両手で抱える大筆を使って、全身全霊の文字を書いてみませんか？ 畳より大きな半紙の上をはだしで駆け回り生まれてくる文字は、一生の思い出になるはず！ 講師の書道家、三上さんは、同じく書道家のお父様とお母さまを持ち、幼少のころから書道に親しんでこられました。 とても創造的でエネルギッシュな三上さん。普通の半紙だけでは飽き足らず、両手に抱える大きな筆で大きな大きな半紙の上を縦横無尽に駆け回り、全身で生み出す文字はやがて長沼町の名物にもなりつつあります。 長沼町の夏まつりや夕焼け市でもパフォーマンスは行われ、時には地元の音楽家たちとのコラボレーションもされています。 この楽しみを見せるだけではなく、体験してもらいたいと生まれたのがこのプログラムです。体験された方は、墨汁をたっぷり含んだ筆の重みにまずびっくり、そして汗ばみながら書き上げた渾身の文字に大満足です。 書き上げた文字は、乾燥までに時間がかかり、干しておく場所にも制限があります。 作品の前で写真を撮っていただくのみになる場合があります。 作品のお持ち帰りに関してご希望の方は、ご希望に添えない場合もございますが、事前にご相談くださいませ。

訪日外国人観光客・ビジネス出張の方、または日本在住の外国人の方向けの体験書道教室です。 和風建築の民家の和室で、心を落ち着けながら筆で漢字を書きます。 お手本は、愛、夢、母、父、友、花、など外国人の方に人気の漢字、約30字をご用意しています。 書きたい漢字のリクエストがあれば、事前に教えていただければお手本をご用意します！ 自分の名前を漢字で書きたいというリクエストも大変多いので、事前に書きたいお名前（1名のみ）をお知らせいただければお手本をご用意します！自分ではなくご家族のお名前（1名のみ）でもOKです！ この体験教室では、自分で使う墨は自分の手で磨ります。墨の色がだんだん濃くなっていくのを自分の目で確認できます。 また、書道に使う道具、筆、紙、硯、墨の説明も写真付きのパネルを用いてわかりやすく行います。 レッスンは座礼に始まり、座礼に終わります。座礼の作法もやさしく説明します！ 縦の線、横の線など基本の書き方からスタートして選んだ漢字を一通り半紙に練習したあと、最後にうちわに書きます。 うちわは持って帰れるのでお土産にもなります！
