From an early age, a SAMURAI learns to distinguish between the bravery of a litterateur and the true courage of "great valor". Mothers send their children to expose their bodies to the cold winter weather and to see the horrific sights of execution sites. My father teaches me how to use a sword from an early age. He starts with a wooden sword, and when he attains the age of 15, he is allowed to carry a serious weapon. At that time, he becomes aware of his self-respect and his sense of responsibility for carrying a dangerous weapon in the street.

武士は幼少のころから匹夫の勇と、真の勇気「大勇」の区別を学びます。母は冬の寒空の中、肉体をさらさせたり、処刑場の恐ろしい光景を見に行かせます。父は幼少のころから刀の使い方を教えます。まずは木刀から始まり、15歳で元服すると真剣を携帯しての行動を許します。その時、彼が自覚するのは自尊心と、危険な凶器を往来で持ち歩くことに対する責任感です。

The place where Toyotomi Hideyori, Yodo and others committed suicide]

On May 8, 1615, Toyotomi Hideyori, his mother Yodo, and about 30 other masters and servants committed suicide within Osaka Castle immediately after the castle fell.

It is said to be the site of Sanada Maru, a castle built during the Osaka Winter Siege. Within the precincts, the ``Sanada loophole'' that Yukimura is said to have dug remains.

At Tamatsukuri Inari Shrine, there is a statue of Toyotomi Hideyori watching over Osaka Castle's castle tower.

侍を目指す外国人がまず追求しなければならないことは、技術や知識ではなく、名誉である。刀を振る前に“礼”や“恥を知る”ことが重要。

戦国時代のSAMURAIは幼少のころから刀の使い方を教わります。まずは木刀から始まり、15歳で元服すると真剣を携帯しての行動を許されます。その時、彼が自覚するのは“自尊心”と、危険な凶器を往来で持ち歩くことに対する“責任感”である。

礼儀作法や古武道と同様に、SAMURAIは効率的、効果的、そして優雅な動きをするものです。その結果、日本の伝統的な剣術には派手な動きはほとんどなく、最小限の動きしかしません。回転する剣、飛び蹴り、大げさな動きは、真の日本の剣術にはありません。

そしてKatanaの練習は何よりも心を育むことを目的としていました。武士は、熱心な練習と極度の集中力を通じて無念無想、執着や先入観のない、状態に達することを望み、よって即座に対応できるのです。

Like etiquette and kobudo, SAMURAI is about efficient, effective, and graceful movement. As a result, traditional Japanese swordsmanship has few flashy moves and minimal movement. Spinning swords, jumping kicks, and exaggerated movements have no place in true Japanese swordsmanship.

And Katana practice was aimed above all at cultivating the mind. The samurai, through diligent practice and extreme concentration, desired to attain a state of detachment, free of attachment or preoccupation, and thus able to respond instantly.

【道】

日本伝統の「武道」には、剣道、柔道、空手道、相撲道などがあり、いずれも「道」という言葉が入ります。 「道」とは過程、プロセスのことです。 生き方と言い換えることもできます。

S戦国時代武士の平均寿命は42歳くらいと言われています。現在の日本の男性の平均寿命は約81.5歳　女性は87.6歳…
現在の寿命から比べると、SAMURAIは半分ほどの時間しかない中で、明日の命もわからない時代を駆け抜けていました
　
つまり、「武道」とは、技術の習熟を目指すことと併せて、自分の生き方を見出し、実践していくことです。

人生は儚いと言いますが
そのはかなさを痛いほど教えてくれるのが、先人たちの辞世のことばでこれを読むと残りの人生の時間を考えさせられます。

辞世の書とは、侍が死を予見したときにこれまでの人生を振り返り、この世での最後の文字として筆で書き残すもの。大坂の陣という戦を前に、死を予見してこれまでの人生を振り返り全紙に最後のひと文字を大筆で！
侍が最も大事にする名誉のため、戦に負けても縄目の恥辱を受けず、捕まる前に腹を切って死ぬのです。（HARAKIRI）

Samurai are willing to die for a certain purpose. Yes, the way of the samurai is death. If you always act with the intention of dying every morning and evening, and if you are willing to die, you will never fail in your life, and you will be able to fulfill your family duties.

“武士道とは死ぬこととみつけたり”
とある目的のために死を厭わない。そう、侍の道は死なのです。毎朝毎夕、いつも死ぬつもりで行動し、死に身になっていれば、一生落ち度鳴く、家職を全うすることができる。
侍は「義、勇、仁、礼、誠、名誉、忠義」を念頭に置きながら美しく死ぬことを追求していくのです。

【benevolence】
“Benevolence”  means compassion as a person and a heart that cares for others. The spirit of benevolence resides in the “compassion of the samurai.”  Don't forget to be considerate of others. A spirit of benevolence is essential for those who stand above others.

【仁】
仁とは、人としての思いやり、他者への憐れみの心のこと。“武士の情け”には、仁の精神が内在している。他者への思いやりを忘れてはならない。仁の精神は、人の上に立つ者の必須項目である。

Sanada Yukimura, who sortied from Mt. Chausu, charged head-on toward Tokugawa Ieyasu's main camp, aiming for one of Tokugawa Ieyasu's heads in order to take revenge despite being outnumbered. He threatens to take one step closer, but he is killed in the precincts of Yasui Shrine... “Since I’m giving you this head, it’s good to take credit for it! ” Nobushige Sanada passed away at the age of 49⚔

茶臼山から出撃した真田幸村、劣勢の状況下にも拘わらず一矢報いる為、徳川家康の首一つを狙い、まっしぐらに徳川家康の本陣を目指し突撃したのです。
あと一歩のところまで脅かしますが、安居神社の境内にて討ち取られ…
