Would you like to explore Japan more, including about history, food culture and health benefits through fermented foods? Try and enjoy this unique class near the station! Our kitchen is located in the heart of Tokyo (Only 10 mins from Shibuya Station to the kitchen including a short walk), so you won’t be affected much by the weather! A certified instructor guides you through easy recipes using traditional Japanese fermented ingredients, with an in-depth lecture in a small-group setting. The class is just 2 hours long, making it perfect even for busy travelers! In the beginning, there is a lecture about Japanese fermented foods (especially koji and miso) then we cook lunch together: - Teriyaki Chicken (or deep thick tofu for Vegans) - Onigiri - Miso soup - Two vegetable side dishes using miso - Amazake dessert * Vegan version is available but we will share the kitchen with non-vegan version. Please ask for vegan option before you apply. * Please mention if you have any allergen restrictions. * We use a small amount of a seasoning called Mirin that contains alcohol. The alcohol is removed during cooking, so the dish is safe for children. However, the tasting is not available for children.

Discover how to create Jiro Style Ramen from scratch! In this class, we’ll make the noodles from flour, prepare the rich garlic-infused soup, and cook the chashu pork. You'll be able to replicate the entire dish at home. Jiro Style Ramen is immensely popular in Japan. The noodles are thick, the soup is rich with garlic, and it’s topped with generous slices of chashu pork and some an abundance of vegetables. We also offer a guided tour in Akihabara. Our tour assistant will introduce you to Japanese seasonings and foods at a grocery store to enhance your culinary experience. 1. Akihabara Walking Tour (About 20 minutes) Explore Akihabara and see popular spots on the way to the supermarket. 2. Supermarket in Akihabara (About 20 minutes) Visit a supermarket to pick up ingredients for making ramen. Discover Japanese ingredients and how they are used in cooking. -Train Ride to the Kitchen Studio 3. Ramen Making Class (About 90 minutes) Make ramen from scratch! Learn how to prepare fresh noodles, flavorful broth, and delicious toppings to create an authentic bowl of ramen. Notes: If you let us know more than 48 hours in advance, we can change the chashu from pork to chicken.
