Learn how to play the Japanese shamisen.
・Learn about the history of shamisen and its influence on Japanese music.
・Experience two types of shamisen, the popular "Tsugaru Shamisen" and the ancient Okinawan "Jabisen".
・You will also experience Okinawa's Shamisen (Jabisen), which is likened to a banjo.

This program explores the fascinating world of traditional Japanese music through the shamisen, one of the most distinctive instruments in Japanese culture.

In this experience, you will learn how to play the Tsugaru shamisen from a nationally certified instructor.
After the lesson, you will also have the unique opportunity to experience the Okinawan Shamisen-Jabisen. This is a banjo-like instrument with a long history and a unique tone.

Learn how to play the traditional Japanese music - shamisen.
Discover how a shamisen is made, Shamisen’s sound is one of the most distinctive sounds in Japanese culture.

People use a heavy drumstick to strike Tsugaru shamisen with all their strength to create a rhythm.
With the addition of shouts such as "Ollya" and "Arya", you can hear a unique tone that is both intense and delicate.
You will also experience playing the shamisen of Okinawa.
