Join a Japanese indigo dyeing workshop using natural materials, at a 100-year-old house deep in the nature of West Tama.
Only natural ingredients will be used, including the indigo dye plant which the master grows at the backyard of his house.
The location of the atelier contributes to the authenticity of the experience and the tranquility of mind necessary for creating an original piece of art.
Dye a coaster or a postcard with a ready-made pattern.
You will have the chance to enjoy a relaxing view of a Buddhist temple's Japanese garden while enjoying a cup of green tea and hand-made Japanese sweets, while you wait for your dyed material to dry.
10:00 Commence at Shigeta Atelier: choose your pattern and item, and begin the dyeing process
12:30 Have lunch while item drying, or enjoy green tea with Japanese sweet
14:30 End of workshop
