大衆演劇は江戸から続く気軽な庶民の娯楽です。 毎日日替わりで上演されるのは、お芝居とショーの2本立て。 1部のお芝居では抱腹絶倒の喜劇から涙の人情芝居、白熱の剣劇、ラブロマンスまで。
2部のショーでは美しい衣装に身を包んだ役者たちが 手の届く距離で工夫を凝らした舞踊を披露します。 公演劇団は1か月ごとに各地を巡業していくため、毎月違った劇団の舞台を楽しめます。

Popular theater has been an easygoing form of entertainment for the masses since the Edo period. It features a daily rotating double bill of plays and shows. The first part offers everything from uproarious comedies, tearful human dramas, intense sword-fighting acts, to love romances.

In the second part, actors dressed in beautiful costumes perform intricately crafted dances within reach of the audience. As the performance troupes tour different locations each month, audiences can enjoy the stages of various troupes every month.
