This calligraphy school is located in Kamitori Arcade, near Kumamoto Castle and the Kumamoto Traditional Crafts Museum, in the center of Kumamoto City. My name is Suiko and I am the owner of this calligraphy school and have been teaching for over 15 years. You can experience Japanese calligraphy, a part of Japanese culture, while looking out at a Japanese garden in a Japanese-style room that feels like a Japanese home. Japanese and foreign people of all nationalities are welcome. I can speak Japanese and simple conversational English, but I will use a translator if necessary. Please enjoy the calligraphy experience like a local living in Japan. It will be a great experience!
