奈良の街中で、日本の伝統素材「竹」を使った竹灯籠づくりを体験してみませんか。 あらかじめ加工した竹を使用するため、初めての方やお子さまでも安心してご参加いただけます。 専用工具を使って模様を入れ、灯りをともした時の陰影の美しさを楽しめる、世界にひとつだけの竹灯籠を制作します。 完成後はそのままお持ち帰り可能。ご自宅のインテリアや、奈良旅の思い出、贈り物としても人気です。 静かな室内空間で、集中しながらものづくりを楽しめる体験です。
One of the instructors spoke English thank goodness. It was so fun and easy to do. Even though there was apron they were able to clean our clothes with pressurized air. Wish there were more options for designs but other than that it was awesome

奈良筆作りの12工程のうち、最後のくり込みと仕上げの行程を体験していただくプランです。 穂首の大きさに合わせて、筆軸を小刀で削って穂首を接着し、穂首（毛の部分）に布海苔（ふのり）を含ませて、麻糸をまいて形を整えていきます。 少し難しいかもしれませんが、伝統工芸士の田中がしっかりとお教えしますので、安心してご参加ください。体験で使用した筆はお持ち帰りいただけます。
I had a great hands on experience making the brush. Tanaka-sensei was really nice and helpful. Though she did not speaks English and with my limited Japanese, the experience went smoothly (Thank you Google Translate...it did a lot of help). ほんとうに楽しかった。ありがとうございました. Can't wait to try the brush I've made for my 書道 class.
